Silhouette Challenges #35 - Mirror mirror on the wall!

Hello my crafty friends,

Welcome to my March (Challenge 35) DT post for Silhouette Challenges.

Today I'm sharing something that I haven't worked on for a while and decided to try again. Last time I etched it was over a year ago (a glass vase) and my etching cream has been stored away since then.

I decided to test it out so I used my surname initial (D) and the year that hubby and I got married (I still look at it and wonder if I got the correct year ... lol)

I used a stencil (cut out of vinyl from my local sign store), a mirror, a sponge brush and some etching cream for this project.

I wish I'd taken a photo of the before and during so you could see the process ... I've made a note to self to try remember for next time :-).

It is so hard trying to photograph a mirror so I'm sharing a few different views so you can get an idea of what it looks like with and without a reflection, so my cell phone and my hubby's golf clubs are meant to be in the pictures ;-).

It turned out quite nice except for a bit of unevenness on the vertical bit of the D ... I guess practice makes perfect so I've lots of practicing ahead of me...lol! It definitely looks better in person.

Thank you for visiting today!
Happy Crafting!

Easter on my mind!

Hello again friends,

Today I am sharing a cute lollipop holder from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons called 'Stitched Heart Lollipop Holder ' - as you might know I'm a big fan and love their cute and gorgeous files. I changed the Love theme to Easter for this project.

I added a sweet little chick to the front of this holder - this Chick in Egg is from Miss Kate Cuttables (they offer a freebie file every day then it usually moves into the $0.50 section - still a bargain!!).

I used foam dots to raise the chick on the holder - I love him, he's super cute! What do you think? The paper I used had the yellow pattern on one side so looked plain when I added the lollipops and folded it so I cut out some Easter/Spring patterned paper and glued that to the inside.
I found these sweet little carrot and egg lollipops at the Dollar store and thought they'd be perfect for this little project - they just fitted in the holder :-)
These would be great for classroom treats or for Easter Egg Hunting street parties!

The glue I used for this project were my ATG gun and Tombow Multi liquid glue. I'm not a big fan of my ATG gun, I've tried it a few times but I think I've put it together incorrectly lol - can anyone suggest a tutorial for me!?!

Thank you for visiting today.
Happy Crafting!
